    Lawshall Village Hall is an ideal venue for wedding receptions, meetings, conferences, dances and parties large and small.

    Do you or your company need a Stage?  Do you require a full ‘Sound System’ with a Hearing Loop facility?  From November 2017 we also have a projector and screen that can be booked for use.

    Do you wish to seat 100 people on comfortable chairs?   Do you want a place for an adult or childrens party?   Do you want to organise a Table Top Sale? Do you want a well-equipped kitchen? Do you require full facilities for the disabled?

    There is plenty of space, both inside and on the grass outside.

    If you need a marquee, or outside catering facilities, these can easily be arranged.

    Laura Williams, Landlady at the Swan Public House is happy to advise on obtaining a temporary alcohol licence if needed and may be able, by arragement, to supply a bar for special events.

    History of the Hall

    Lawshall Village Hall, originally built in the 1970s, was extended and upgraded between 2007 and 2009 with many up-to-date features being added. Following a flood (due to excessive rain) in September 2014 a new and re-levelled floor was laid, enhancing the experience of carpet bowlers, and the opportunity taken to update guttering and to redecorate.

    Covid in 2020 required further changes with a new dishwasher, enhanced exit ramp, stylish blinds instead of curtains and repainting of the tired interior walls. The external frieze has also been replaced and the planters and hanging baskets provide  good colour in the summer.

    The Management Committee invite you to take a look at the refurbished Hall which we believe offers the best overall facilities of any Village Hall in the area.

    There is a large grassed area and big car park. Hire Rates are very competitive and include all lighting, gas for the kitchen and central heating when applicable. A projector and Wifi are also available

    HALL FACILITIES

    Main Hall

    • The Main Hall  ( 14.2m  by 9m) is large enough for a badminton court (not marked) and has a high ceiling.
    • Brand New Smooth Flooring (2015)
    • Full Sound System installed with hearing loop, plays CDs and from MP3 players.

    • Projector and screen available by arrangement
    • Lighting in the main hall is to full gymnasium standards
    • 1m square and 1m by 2m Folding tables with a trolley for ease of  movement
    • 100 padded chairs + additional chairs including extra strong ones.
    • Dual access Stage (   7m  by   4 m)   with curtains and ”green room”.

    Jubilee Room (7m x 4m) with closable hatch to kitchen has doors to separate it from the main hall for privacy and access to enclosed rear garden space.

    Kitchen – closable hatch to Jubilee room

    • Fitted cupboards and waist level stainless steel counters offering plenty of space for food preparation. Oven and hob, warming cupboard, grill, microwave, fridge, hot water urn, dishwasher. Cutlery, Crockery and glasses for up to 50 people.

    Other facilities

    • Two small meeting rooms
    • Toilets for men and women with separate facilities for disabled or greater space and baby changing.

    Access: Entrance Ramp to widened front door allows easy access with wheelchairs. Exit ramop from main hall enables one-way flow if needed. Disabled Toilet Facilities.

    HIRING CHARGES

    LAWSHALL VILLAGE HALL HIRING CHARGES

    Our charges which take into account the cost of heating and maintaining the hall  are as follows:

    Lawshall residents…  £14 per hour

    Other users….. £17 per hour

    Groups that use the hall on a weekly or monthly basis: £11 per hour

    Charge for 4 hour children’s parties … £45  (to include set up and clear up time)

    Cancellations must be notified to the caretaker in writing before any session, otherwise the hire charge remains payable.

    We have conference (padded) chairs for 100 people which should stay in the hall and a further 50 wooden seats which may be taken outside the building or hired for your own use.

    For your own larger events or those away from the Hall furniture can be hired:

    Tables at £1 each per day (up to 12 large tables and 8 smaller tables) and Wooden Stacking/Folding Chairs at 50p each per day (up to 70). Deposit applies.

    Please Note: Upholstered chairs or folding tables may NOT be taken outside the Hall.

    No charge is made for heating, electricity, lighting or gas which controls the hot water and cooking facilities. No charge is made for the use of Wifi or the projector (bookable in advance)

    A Damage Deposit of £100 is payable for groups over the age of 12 before each hire. This is returned immediately after the hire if there has been no damage or extra cleaning charge required.
